Meet Jodi

Welcome!

I believe every child is wonderfully unique, and with the right learning plan, every child can experience the joy of learning. My passion is helping children who learn differently while empowering parents with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools they need to support their children at home or in school.

For more than twenty years, I have dedicated my career to literacy, language development, and nurturing children through meaningful relationships, nature, and individualized instruction.

Specialized Support for Diverse Learners

My work has focused on supporting children with:

🌿 Dyslexia and reading disabilities

🌿 ADHD and executive functioning challenges

🌿 Autism Spectrum Disorder

🌿 Language delays

🌿 Reading comprehension difficulties

🌿 Writing challenges

🌿 English language learners

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I strive to understand how each child learns best and create individualized strategies that build confidence while honoring their strengths.

My Education

I hold a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics, where I specialized in language acquisition, literacy development, phonology, morphology, syntax, reading science, body language, and evidence-based approaches to supporting children with language and literacy differences.

I also hold a:

• Bachelor of Science in Psychology

In addition, I have completed professional training in dyslexia intervention, including Yale University's Overcoming Dyslexia program.

I am also a yin yoga and embodiment practitioner, practicing for over 12 years.

Together, this educational background allows me to blend the science of language with child development and compassionate teaching practices.

Empowered Parent Consultations

One of the most meaningful parts of my work is partnering with parents.

Many families come to me feeling overwhelmed with phrases like:

"My child is behind."

"They're refusing to read."

"Everything has become a battle."

"I'm worried something is wrong."

My goal is to replace fear with understanding.

During an Empowered Parent Consultation, we work together to understand your child's learning profile and create a practical plan that supports success at home and school.

Together we can discuss:

• Reading and literacy development

• Dyslexia-friendly learning strategies

• ADHD support and executive functioning

• Autism-friendly routines and learning environments

• Language and speech development

• Homeschool planning

• Waldorf-inspired education

• Building confidence and reducing learning frustration

Parents leave with individualized recommendations, practical tools, and renewed confidence in supporting their child.

Professional Experience

My professional experience includes:

• Waldorf Librarian and Teacher at Kimberton Waldorf School 6 years Grades 1-12

• First Grade Rest Time Teacher

• K–5 Aftercare Teacher

• Substitute Teacher

• Private Reading and Writing Tutor

• ESL Teacher

• Literacy Specialist serving more than 1,000 students worldwide

• Homeschool educator and curriculum developer

My Philosophy

I believe children flourish when they feel deeply understood.

Learning should inspire curiosity—not fear.

Parents should feel empowered—not overwhelmed.

Every child deserves an advocate who sees not only where they struggle, but also where they shine.

It would be an honor to walk alongside your family.

Personalized support.
